A major domestic producer in Indonesia has announced fresh PP and PE offers on the first trading day of the week with increases on most of the grades, except for HDPE film and yarn.

Indonesian buyers remain cautious in accepting new hikes citing the still competitive prices in the distribution markets. Customers see the new offers as a reflection of the firm stance observed in the import ground and less of the actual demand condition.
“The price gap between LLDPE and HDPE film is widening and it is very confusing. We are being conservative because it is possible that spot LLDPE film would have to come down in the near term,” a buyer added.
