EIA: US crude inventories rose more than expected, gasoline stocks fell



US crude inventories rose 6.1 million barrels in the week ending 8 October 2021 to 427 million barrels, according to the Energy Information Agency (EIA) as refineries utilization rates dropped ahead of the maintenance season.

Data showed that the refinery utilization rate fell 2.9 percent to 86.7%. 

Gasoline stocks fell 2 million barrels during the week to 223.1 million barrels, much larger than expectations. 

Net US crude import drops 1.4 million barrels.
