EIA: US crude inventories piled up more than expected



The Energy Information Agency on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 released the latest data on US crude inventories last week which showed a large buildup of 4.3 million barrels as a result of the rising imports. Total nationwide stocks jumped to 430.8 million barrels. 

US gasoline stocks fell by 2 million barrels to 218.5 million barrels, the lowest levels since 2017.

Refinery utilization rates rose 0.4 percentage points to 85.1% by the week ending 22 October.
