Chinese players are reporting that couple of major PE producers in Southeast Asia has sold out their available quantity to China market this morning after giving a small discount from initial prices.  

A trader purchased Thai HDPE film at $1090-1095/t and LDPE film at $1115/t CFR China, LC AS term said, “We requested for a additional small quantity but our supplier informed that they have sold out already. We are not having much inventory at the moment, therefore we plan to replenish some cargoes to meet local demand after Chinese New Year.”

Another Southeast Asian producer claimed to have sold out HDPE film and yarn grades at $1060/t and LDPE film at $1120/t CFR China, LC AS term. Source from the producer added, “This month we have rather small allocation and we sell mostly to regular local traders. US suppliers are very aggressive recently when it comes to pricing. We expect local supply in China will be loosen after the long holidays, hence we are not very confident about the post-holiday outlook.”

Import PE offers to China currently stand at $1050-1115/t for HDPE film, $1050-1070/t for LLDPE film, $1100-1130/t for LDPE film, all on CFR China, LC 0-90 days term.
