According to market sources, Hyosung Vina Chemical is planning to restart its No. 2 PP line in Southern Vietnam in the coming week after taking the unit offline in mid-December 2021 due to propylene supply disruption.
The PP line has an annual output of 300,000 tons/year.
The No. 2 line shall be able to come back online once the upstream propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit restarts. The 600,000 tons/year PDH plant remain shut at the time of this report.
The No. 1 PP line reportedly operating at normal rates; however, the outputs are used to fulfil the delivery obligations, hence the producer has yet to open any spot offer to both local and international markets.
