According to market sources, OQ Chem has unexpectedly taken its PP plant in Liwa Plastics Industries Complex (LPIC), Oman offline this week due to a technical issue following seawater backflow.
The PP plant consists of three production lines with a combined capacity of 300,000 tons/year would remain shut for two weeks.
Meanwhile, the company’s 880,000 tons/year PE plant is not affected by the incident.
