For another week, a key local producer in Indonesia slashed spot PP and PE offers significantly on the back of the lack of buying interest while attempting to retain the competitive advantage against the weakening import offers.

The downward adjustments are not surprising, according to market sources. Buyers have been reluctant to make additional purchases over the past week in sight of a persistently weakening trend.
“Everyone is concerned about the economic outlook, while the COVID-19 situation in China is not improving. The near-term outlook is so bearish, we fear the downswing might persist in the near term,” a market source added.
