For the first time in seven months, Saudi oil and gas giant – Saudi Aramco lifted contract propane prices to Asia to reflect the higher winter demand. However, the $20/ton hikes month-on-month is deemed symbolic.
This is because the demand from the downstream petrochemical industry across Asia remains sluggish and many plants in this region are operating at reduced rates, affecting the demand for feeds.
The latest offer stands at $610/ton, FOB from the port of Ras Tanura.
The price provides a benchmark against which Middle East sales of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Asia are priced.
