Oil slid more than 3% on US gasoline stocks built up

International benchmarks for crude oil plunged sharply on Wednesday, 23 November 2022 following a report from the EIA that showed 3.1 million barrels built up in the US gasoline stockpiles last week, easing concerns over the state of supply ahead of the winter. Meanwhile, the Group of Seven (G7) continued to talk about placing a price cap on Russian crude oil between $65-70/barrel – way above the production costs in Russia.

Brent fell $2.95 or 3.3% to close at $85.41/barrel.

WTI dropped $3.01 or 3.7% to close at $77.94/barrel.
