EIA: US commercial crude stocks built up; gasoline inventories declined

The latest report from the Energy Information Agency showed that the US commercial crude inventory built up 1.7 million barrels in the week ending 30 December 2022 to 420.6 million barrels as a result of reduced operating rates among refineries in the country due to the winter storm.

In fact, refineries around the country operated at about 79.6% of their operable capacity during the week, down from 92% the week before.

On the other hand, total gasoline stocks fell by 346,000 barrels while the distillate stockpile fell by 1.4 million barrels.
