A fire broke out at India’s HMEL petrochemical plant

According to market sources, Hindustan Petroleum-Mittal Energy (HMEL) was hit by a fire early morning on 24 February 2023 after a cracked pipeline led to an oil leak at the quench oil tower at the newly constructed naphtha cracker.
