A major Thailand maker has implemented $10/ton hike on LLDPE film caroges to China today, reaching $1260-1265/ton, at the meantime cut HDPE film and yarn prices by $10-20/ton compared to last week to reach $1145/ton and $1150/ton respectively, all on CFR China, LC at sight term, for September shipment.

“We only managed to obtain 108 tons of LLDPE film from our supplier this time due to lack of availability. We think buyers might show strong resistance as this offer is way above the market acceptance levels. Indeed, we have not been able to conclude any deal this week even at $10/ton lower than this latest prices.  Demand for HDPE is weaker recently and hence prices are on the softer note,” a trader commented.
