Trading sentiment on the Shenhua auction platform struggles to regain momentum on the second trading day of the week with disappointing sales results for both homo-PP and LLDPE cargoes.
Compared to the previous session, homo-PP trades were slightly better partly due to a CNY20/ton reduction in deal prices but remained below 50% of its auction volume hinting at possible need basis activities. Traders expect prices to experience further downward pressure in these upcoming sessions to reflect better on the impaired market sentiment.

Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co is currently the largest coal-based polyolefins producer in China, operates under four subsidiaries, namely: Shenhua Xinjiang Coal-based New Materials Project, Shenhua Yulin Energy Co Ltd, Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co Ltd and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group (Ningmei).
The company has an annual capacity of 2.65 million tons/year of PP, 750,000 tons/year of HDPE/LLDPE and 570,000 tons/year of LDPE.
