According to market sources, a major Taiwanese producer has implemented some $10/ton hike on their latest PS and ABS offers to Vietnam this week on the back of firming styrene monomer costs.

Currently, the offers stand at $1185-1195/ton for GPPS, $1205-1215/ton for HIPS and $1405-1415/ton for ABS, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

A buyer received the new offer commented, “Local demand is very slow at the moment, hence we are very concern over the sustainability of the current up-trend. We decided not to restock any cargoes, despite the fact that maintenance shutdown season at several SM plant might continue to push prices up in the near term.”
