After announced September delivery offers for LLDPE and HDPE film to Vietnam at $10/ton lower than last month, a major Saudi Arabia producer has finalised the conclusion prices for their cargoes at larger than usual discount. Deals are concluded at $20/ton lower than initial prices for both LLDPE and HDPE cargoes, higher than the typical discount of only $10/ton, reaching $1200/ton and $1110/ton respectively, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

A buyer purchased a small quantity said, “Buying interest in southern Vietnam area this month is a little weak as many buyers are still waiting for their previous cargoes purchased since June to arrive. We only commit a small quantity as we are not confident about the quarter 4 outlook.”

Players blamed the delay of previous shipment to be the main culprit behind such reduction amid tight supply from other suppliers and surging ethylene costs. Buyers are generally showing very cautious stance over their purchases.
