Local PP and PE offers in Indonesia continue to gallop higher after a major domestic producer announced a fresh weekly price list with moderate increases. Spot availability remains limited for both PP and PE, which support the price decisions, however, buying interest falls visibly.
The producer’s latest price list and changes compared to last week are shown in the following table:

Indonesian customers have been slowing down on purchases since last week while escalating the effort to transfer the rising raw materials costs to finished products, which proved to be more challenging than expected.
“The price risks are heightening. We have stocked up a month’s worth of inventories and prefer to source back-to-back in the near term. We started seeing more traders offering forward selling cargoes at attractive price levels, which are very appealing,” said, an HDPE bag maker.
Meanwhile, sources reported easing supply tightness for PP cargoes. However, the availability is still not substantial enough to induce reductions on spot offers at the moment.
