According to market sources, a major distributor reportedly opens fresh offers for locally produced homo-PP at VND200,000 ton ($9/ton) reduction from last week for both yarn and injection grades. Latest prices stand at VND25,800,000/ton ($1050/ton without VAT), based on FD Vietnam, cash term.

A market source informed, “This is very confusing as most other sellers are attempting to increase their offers in line with the international trend. Market is a little sluggish as buyers mostly entered the holiday mood. We expect to see better demand condition after the National Day holidays early September.”
