As futures contracts on Dalian Commodity remain on an upward trajectory, which coupled with strong sales results in the previous week encouraged Shenhua to lift auction prices for both homo-PP and LLDPE by CNY110 – 120/ton. Though the number of deals dropped slightly from the previous session, results are satisfactory considering the latest hikes. Sources said supply tightness might continue to keep the firming trend intact, hence, customers would continue to source coal-based parcels for more competitive pricing.

Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co is currently the largest coal-based polyolefins producer in China, operates under four subsidiaries, namely: Shenhua Xinjiang Coal-based New Materials Project, Shenhua Yulin Energy Co Ltd, Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co Ltd and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group (Ningmei).
The company has an annual capacity of 2.65 million tons/year of PP, 750,000 tons/year of HDPE/LLDPE and 570,000 tons/year of LDPE.
