A Thailand producer has announced fresh HDPE offers to Vietnam this week for October delivery at $5/ton lower than the previous week, claiming limited buying interest to be the main driver behind the decision. Currently, the producer’s offers stand at $1155/ton for film, injection and blow moulding grades, all based on CIF Vietnam LC AS term.

Source close to the company said, “We were holding firm on our offers due to reduced availability after we decided to leverage on ethylene market instead. However, there were not sufficient purchase inquiries received. We hope with the latest price cut, buyers would show some interest though other origins are available at very competitive prices.”
