For the second week in a row, a major Indonesian producer decided to slash local PP and PE offers to stimulate buying activities following a prolonged period of lethargic demand and the appreciation of the Rupiah against the US dollar.

“But the steep fall severely impacted buyers’ confidence. Besides, a series of restarts at regional plants further encouraged customers to adopt a wait-and-see stance instead of procuring cargoes now,” a trading house commented.
