According to market sources, a major Southeast Asian producer has announced October delivery offers to the region. Despite the adjustment rates to each market are slight different, the maker in general reduced PP prices while lifting LDPE compared to last month.
In fact, to Malaysia, the latest price list from the producer indicated $20/ton lower for PP cargoes but $20/ton increased for LDPE material. The offers stand at $1070/ton for homo-PP, $1180/ton for PP block copolymers, $1260/ton for PP random copolymers, all based on DAP Malaysia, LC AS term. Offers for LDPE are reported at $1280/ton for film, 1320/ton for injection and $1350/ton for coating, with the same.
To other regional market, the price list showed $10/ton hike for LDPE cargoes reaching $1260/ton for film, $1300/ton for injection and $1330/ton for coating, all based on CIF SEA, LC AS term. PP offers down $20-30/ton compared to last month, reaching $1070/ton for homo-PP, $1180/ton for PP block copolymer and $1240/ton for PP random copolymer, with the same term.
A distributor offer on behalf of the maker informed, “Our supplier decided to increase LDPE prices due to lack of material stemming from the 10 days shutdown earlier this month. Demand for PP is not as strong as expected, yet we still managed to get good number of orders for LDPE.”
