Fire broke out at India's Haldia Petrochemical



According to market sources, there was a fire broke out at the ethylene gas pipeline of Haldia Petrochemical Limited (HPL) on 9 October 2016, 11am.

Fortunately, the blaze was successfully being douse after several hours and no casualty was reported. It is suspected that the fire was caused by leakage on the ethylene gas pipeline.

Based in West Bengal, India, the company has an ethylene production capacity of 700,000 ton/year. Market players informed that so far there are no news regarding any impact on its PE supply.
