Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co., China’s largest coal-based petrochemical producer, concluded its auction 12 November 2025, with the results for prime grades as follows:

PP and LLDPE futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange traded within a narrow range on Tuesday morning before easing toward the end of the session. The late-morning softening prompted sellers to offer an additional CNY 20-30/ton in Shenhua’s latest auction for both grades.

Steady activity was observed for homo-PP yarn and LLDPE film, with homo-PP yarn showing particularly strong demand compared with the previous session. Market participants said the firm buying interest was driven by the extra discounts, which encouraged further purchases.

A local trader noted, “Buyers showed more willingness to take positions at lower levels, though high-end deals slipped by CNY 20–30/ton, underscoring lingering resistance to a price rebound.”

The ongoing softening trend across China’s PP and LLDPE markets continues to cap any upward momentum in offers. On the spot market, homo-PP yarn is quoted at CNY 6,300-6,600/ton, while LLDPE film trades at CNY 6,750-7,000 EXW China, highlighting the relative attractiveness of the auction, particularly for homo-PP.
