According to market sources, Saudi Polymers Company LLC (SPCo) is scheduling a 60-days maintenance shutdown at its Al Jubail complex by fourth quarter of 2016. Based in Jubail Industrial City, the complex houses a gas based steam cracker, which produces 1.22 million ton/year of ethylene and 440,000 ton/year of propylene. The complex also accommodate a 1.1 million ton/year HDPE/LLDPE swing plant, a 400,000 ton/year PP plant, a 100,000 ton/year GPPS and 100,000 ton/year HIPS units, as well as a 100,000 ton/year hexane-1 unit.
Saudi Polymers Company LLC (SPCo) is a joint venture between National Petrochemical Company Company (Petrochem) (65%) and Arabian Chevron Phillips Chemical Company (35%).
