According to market sources, Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP) has shut its PP and PE units unexpectedly this morning after experiencing compressor failure at the ethylene cracker.
Located at Fujian, China, the plant houses two PP lines with total capacity of 550,000 tons/year and two PE lines with total annual capacity of 800,000 tons/year. Initial expectation is that the plant would remain offline for at least 5-7 days; however, no exact restart date is confirmed at the moment. Meanwhile, the old 120,000 ton/year PP unit is still operating at normal rate at the moment.
