According to market sources, Hanwha Total Petrochemical is planning to shut its sole naphtha-fed steam cracker in 2019 for scheduled turnaround and debottlenecking.

Based in Daesan, South Korea, the cracker is able to produce 1 million ton/year of ethylene and upon debottlenecking, the capacity will be increased to 1.4 million tons/year. A source closed to the company informed that there will be no maintenance schedule for the cracker in 2018.
