Chinese players reported that there is a considerable number of Iranian LLDPE film cargoes arrived the main port recently arousing expectation that more cargoes from this origin would be coming after the lifting of international sanctions. 

Data from Chinese Custom Department showed import LLDPE from Iran to China in the short working month of February 2016 increased by almost five folds compared to a month earlier, bringing Iran to be the fourth biggest LLDPE supplier to China just behind Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Thailand. 

Commenting on this matter, a trader said, “The start up of Lorestan Petrochemical in December 2015 with a 300,000 ton/year swing HDPE/LLDPE plant would be the main contributor to this surge. We are quite happy that more cargoes are coming at the time the market is really tight on this grade; however market would need more time to utilise its competitiveness.”
