Shell Eastern Petrochemical Complex reportedly resume regular production rate at its Pulau Bukom, Singapore prefecture after a water supply issue caused some disruption earlier this week.
A burst pipeline on 6 August affected the water supply to the petrochemical complex, forcing the company to shut down two out of four boilers that supply steam to the refinery and petrochemical units.
The complex houses a cracker that produces 960,000 tons/year of ethylene, 550,000 tons/year of propylene and 186,000 tons/year of butadiene. Also at the same compound, Shell owns a 750,000 tons/year monoethylene glycol (MEG) and 550,000 ton/year styrene monomer (SM) unit.
