Some areas in Northern China are experiencing a drastic drop in temperature causing heavy snow and hamper the smooth transportation of raw material in and out of the region. 

In fact, several customers have informed of a delay in shipment from Xuzhou Haitian Petrochemical Co Ltd, which operates a 200,000 tons/year PP plant in Jiangsu. “The situation is not very serious yet, but we have to see the weather condition,” a trader said.

There has been speculation that logistic companies in Northern China area might take off for Lunar New Year earlier than usual if the weather condition remains unfavorable. This might lead to higher transportation costs in the country.
