UPDATE: South Korea’s LG Chem started cracker expansion

It is reported that LG Chem has started the expansion project at its naphtha cracker in Deasan, South Korea on 5 March 2019. The cracker was producing 940,000 tons/year of ethylene and 450,000 tons/year of propylene. By the time the project completed, the capacity would be boosted to 1.27 million tons of ethylene per annum.

The cracker will remain off-stream for approximately 35 days.
