According to market sources, SP Chemical is planning to start the trial run of its ethane-fed cracker in July 2019, which is well earlier than market initial expectation of end-2019 to early 2020.

Based in Jiangsu, China, the cracker is having production capacity of 650,000 tons/year. The company is currently producing 750,000 tons/year of caustic soda, 660,000 tons/year of chlorine, 135,000 tons/year of aniline, 500,000 tons/year of VCM, and 320,000 tons/year of styrene monomer (SM). The trial run is expected to be started as soon as receiving approval from the government which expected by April-May 2019.
