Phu My Plastics Production JSC (PMP) has selected Spheripol polypropylene process technology from LyondellBasell for its 300,000 tons per annum plant in Ba Ria, Vung Tau Province, Vietnam. 

Madam Le Thi Hoa, Vice Chairman at PMP stated: “We have selected Spheripol Technology for our PP project due to the strong licensing record and operational experience of LyondellBasell and the well-established Spheripol PP product position in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.”

The company has also let a contract to Honeywell UOP LLC to provide process technology for a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit at the same production site. 

In March 2018, the company has signed a long-term contract with PetroVietnam Gas to supply 360,000 tons per year propane gas as feed for the PDH unit. 

Phu My Plastics Production JSC (PMP) is a relatively new company in Vietnam. Incorporated in December 2016, the company is specialized in manufacturing biodegradable plastics and related end products such as bags (T-shirt bags, garbage bags, roll bags for food containing, etc.), disposable knives/ spoons/ forks, bottle caps.

Until now, there has not been any disclosure on the time frame and the construction of this new plant.
