UPDATE: South Korea’s Hanwha Total completed cracker debottlenecking

Ethylene  Propylene

It is reported that Hanwha Total Petrochemical has completed the debottlenecking process at its sole naphtha cracker in the south-western city of Daesan, South Korea. The cracker has restarted.

The cracker output has been boosted to 1.41 million tons/year of ethylene and 980,000 tons/year of propylene following the expansion.

Previously, the restart of the cracker face risk of delay as a result of the labour strike over wages. However, the company and the labour union managed to reach a deal to end the strike.
