The USA government has announced the postponement of the 10 per cent new tariffs on some Chinese goods to 15 December 2019 from the initial deadline of 1 September. These items including electrical products, computers, toys and sporting goods, footwear and plastics that worth roughly USD 156 billion in 2018.

Meanwhile, tariffs on other products such as tools, apparel items and some footwear, will still go into effect on 1 September 2019.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the move is partially to release companies that have already locked the orders for the year-end holiday season from the impact of the new tariffs.
