According to market sources, Pengerang Refining And Petrochemical (PRefChem) has started offering off-grade LLDPE C6 film cargoes following a recent trial run at the plant. The cargoes are concluded at $700/ton CFR China, without form CO.
A source close to the company informed that downstream PP and PE plants are still in the trial run period and might need more time to achieve full operation rate until the cracker achieve stable run rate.
Overview:
PrefChem is a 50%-50% joint venture between Petronas and Saudi Aramco. The complex houses a 3 million tons/year naphtha cracker, 900,000 tons/year PP unit, 400,000 tons/year HDPE unit. The company also owns a C6-based metallocene PE plant with a capacity of 350,000 tons/year.
