The reduction regardless of the up-coming shutdown reflects the sluggish market condition, especially in Indonesia, where domestic suppliers have been aggressively slashing prices over the past couple of weeks.
“It is very challenging for overseas suppliers to attract buying interest in Indonesia at the moment. Customers have an upper hand in negotiation and tend to place very low bids,” a distributor said.
In fact, the domestic PP and PE market in Indonesia has reached a multi-months low at the time of this report.
