Vietnamese players reported concluding deals for Saudi Arabia HDPE film at below $1100/ton threshold after major producers announce June shipment prices with three-digits reduction from last month.

Indeed, a buyers purchased a small quantity of the material after $40/ton additional discount at $1080/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. The sources said, “Demand for HDPE film in domestic market is very weak, and as the monsoon arrives, weaker market is expected in the near term. We did not buy large quantity as near term outlook is rather cloudy.”

Another distributor offer HDPE film to Vietnam on behalf of a Saudi maker said, “We down adjusted our offer by $30/ton from initial prices to reach $1090/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. Yet, buyers are not showing much interest. Many are expecting additional reduction in the coming days, therefore they are refraining from making purchases.”

Import HD film to the country is currently reported at $1080-1180/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.
