The Malaysian government has allowed companies that have received the approval to operate during the Movement Control Order (MCO) to ramp up the operating rate to 100% starting 29 April 2020.
The announcement comes as the country managed to flatten the COVID-19 outbreak curve that infected 5851 people here. The Malaysian government has been implementing a nationwide lockdown since 18 March 2020.
The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) is requesting the government to allow more non-essential product manufacturers to resume operations at 50% capacities.
According to local media reports, more than 300,000 companies have submitted applications to the government to operate during the MCO period, and a large number is still waiting for approval at the moment.
