China’s Fujian Meide postponed startup PDH plant to October

It is reported that Fujian Meide Petrochemical has decided to postpone the startup at its newly constructed propane dehydrogenation plant in Jiangyin, Fujian province to October 2020 from the initial schedule in September 2020.

The PDH plant could process 795,000 tons/year of propane, which yields 660,000 tons/year of propylene.

At the moment, the company is sourcing spot propylene to feed the two downstream PP units that have a combined capacity of 500,000 tons/year.

There have been reports that the company procures 60,000 tons of propylene/month from the import market and 20,000 tons/month from the domestic ground at the moment.
