According to market players, PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad has unexpectedly shut its HDPE/LLDPE swing plant recently due to some production issues.
Based in Kerteh, Malaysia, the swing plant has a production capacity of 220,000 ton/year. The plant is expected to be restart by next week.
“Our supplier informed that they are planning to bring the plant on-stream within less than a week time and it shall have minimal impact on the overall supply situation,” a buyer from Malaysia informed.
