It is reported that an explosion occurred at a boiler at the PVC production complex belong to PT Sulfindo Adiusaha early morning on 15 February 2021, causing one fatality.

Police suspected the incident was a result of operator negligence that caused excessive pressure on the boiler hose that led to the explosion. 

PT Sulfindo Adiusaha informed local buyers that the incident did not affect its PVC production. The unit has an annual capacity of 110,000 tons/year and currently undergoing expansion to increase the total output to 360,000 tons/year.
