Asian market players are discussing about possible supply tightness for styrene monomer during Q3 as several major plants go off for maintenance work, which might support higher prices. Indeed, the production overhaul peak during end of August and beginning of September, resulted in production loss of approximate 237,400 tons in total.

CNOOC Ningbo Daxie Petrochemical, Ningbo Keyuan Petrochemical and Ningbo ZRCC Lyondell Chemical were requested to adjust production rate to ensure the air quality during late August and early September, as G20 Summit kick off in Hangzhou on 4 September 2016.
