China’s Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry Group has shut its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit on January 25 following a power outage at its complex, market sources said.
The plant was previously shut on January 10 for a brief turnaround and restarted on January 22.
Located in Tianjin, the PDH plant has a capacity of 600,000 mt/year of propylene.
Propylene costs based on CFR China increased $5/t week over week to reach $595/t yesterday while CFR Southeast Asia value surged $30/t to be reported at $650/t at the beginning of the week.
