Saudi’s Sadara restarted cracker after unexpected shutdown



Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara) has reportedly restarted its troubled cracker and PE plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia last week after shutting down during mid of March 2021 due to an unexpected technical issue.

The cracker has an annual output of 1.5 million tons/year of ethylene and 400,000 tons/year of propylene.

Market sources added that the downstream PE units including a 340,000 tons/year of LDPE line and a 600,000 tons/year HDPE/LLDPE swing line have also come back online at the time of this report.
