According to market players, import ABS from regular origins to Vietnam this week has surged as much as $60/ton from the previous week as suppliers claimed lacking inventories pressure amid higher feedstocks costs.

A trader received offers for Korean cargoes at $1360/ton and Taiwanese cargoes at $1370/ton, CIF Vietnam, LC AS term said, “We were really surprised with such large hike and we are considering whether to proceed with the purchase. We are not having much inventories on hand now, but it is really risky to accept such high price levels.”

Import ABS to Vietnam is currently reported at $1360-1370/ton CIF, LC AS term.
