Saudi Basic Industry Corporation (SABIC) started to marketing PP and PE output from Malaysia’s PrefChem and South Korea’s S-Oil Corporation under its own brand name after taking over the sales and marketing functions from Saudi Aramco.
Materials from Malaysia’s PrefChem including LLDPE C4 film, mLLDPE C6, HDPE film, HDPE injection molding, HDPE blow molding, HDPE monofilament, HDPE pipe, HDPE caps, and closure. Meanwhile, PP cargoes from the 900,000 tons/year plants in Malaysia that use LyondellBasell technologies, including homo-PP yarn, injection, fiber, film, PP random, and impact copolymer injection molding and terpolymer.
Meanwhile, three PP grades from South Korea’s S-Oil Corporation would be marketed under Sabic’s brand, namely homo-PP yarn and injection molding and impact copolymer injection molding.
It is important to note that Sabic would only be taking over the production output portions from each plant that originally assigned to Aramco.
There has not been any update on the packaging and marketing for the materials from Petro Rabigh at the time of this report. Meanwhile, no official announcement pertaining to the arrangement for Aramco’s existing distribution channels in Southeast Asia.
