According to market sources, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation was forced to adjourn the restart of its naphtha cracker by two weeks from the initial schedule of 1 July 2016 due to some unexpected technical issues.

The cracker based in Kashima was shut on 9 May for maintenance, which produces 540,000 tons/year of ethylene and 260,000 tons/year of propylene.
