Indonesian major introduced second price hike this week as upstream costs climb
Indonesia's leading producer walked back into the market with a second round of increases barely a day after its initial weekly adjustment, again catching distributors off guard with the speed of the revision. The move followed a brief pause in offers even as trading continued on earlier allocations, and came only after import quotes from a major overseas origin jumped sharply, adding fresh cost pressure from outside the domestic chain. PP grades absorbed the steeper end of the increases relative to PE, reshaping the usual spread between the two families. Buyers continued to procure in small lot while digesting the consecutive hikes.

US LLDPE film cargoes into Indonesia mark a fourth week of gains
A run of buying out of China and Vietnam has stripped spare US-origin LLDPE film volume from cargoes bound for Indonesia, and traders are capitalizing on the scarcity, extending a rally now into its fourth straight week. Firmer crude added some support, but availability did the real work, with the bulk of US allocation already absorbed elsewhere and one international trading house confirming its August book is already sold through.
Buyers are pricing in calmer conditions for the final quarter, but are again leaning on China's ability to once again absorb any fresh supply shock, much as it did earlier this year. That assumption could be shakier than it did last time, with combined Chinese producer stockpiles well off their pre-conflict peak and the Red Sea route now carrying its own renewed risk.
