EIA: US crude inventories fell more than expected
According to the latest data from the Energy Information Agency (EIA), US crude inventories fell as much as 7.2 million barrels in the week ending 27 August 2021, to 425.4 million barrels – about 6% below the five-year average.
Meanwhile, gasoline inventories piled up 1.3 million barrels in the week to 227.2 million barrels.
Refineries operated at 91.3% capacity, down from 92.4% the week before.
Net US crude imports increased 183,000 barrels per day to an average of 6.3 million barrels per day.
