Oil rose on US outages and weakened US dollar
International benchmarks for crude oil surged more than $1/barrel on Thursday, 2 September 2021 on the back of US production outages and the latest EIA report showed a large drawdown in US crude inventories. Meanwhile, the US dollar has also weakened, making commodities traded in this currency more appealing to international investors.
Brent jumped $1.44 to end the session at $73.03/barrel.
WTI gained $1.40 or 2% to close at $69.99/barrel.
